About the gallery
Founded in 2023, the Art Gallery of the Alliance Française de Pondichéry is a space dedicated to contemporary creation and artistic dialogue between France and India. Located in the heart of White Town, it reflects the Alliance Française’s mission to promote cultural exchange and the diversity of artistic expression.
The gallery presents a carefully curated and regularly renewed programme, showcasing Indian, French, and international artists through a wide range of artistic practices, including photography, painting, sculpture, installations, and digital art. Designed as a place for exchange and discovery, it encourages dialogue between artists, audiences, and cultural professionals through exhibitions, artist talks, and cultural events.
Open to all and free of charge, the gallery actively contributes to the cultural vitality of Pondicherry and to the development of Franco-Indian collaborations, while supporting contemporary artistic creation in all its forms.
Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
