Ujjayinee Roy is a singer, song writer, columnist, actor and dancer from Chennai, India. She has been the voice behind numerous songs in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam and Telegu films and has worked with the likes of A R Rahman, Illayaraja, Harris Jayaraj, Sajid – Wajid, Yuvan Shankar Raja and other popular Indian music directors. She has also lent her voice for numerous jingles, ad-films and voice-overs. Her journey in to the world of music began at the age of three when she began training in Hindustani Classical Music. Ujjayinee started performing for All India Radio and Doordarshan Kendra from the age of seven. Later she also started performing in classical concerts and after training in Hindustani for twenty years moved to the city of Bangalore. Currently she resides in Chennai where apart from being a performer she also teaches Hindustani Classical music at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music. She has also been associated with Radio Mirchi, Kolkata as an RJ and producer. She has been the founder member of bands like Tribe and Aurko. Ujjayinee has been working and experimenting with various genres of music like electronica, opera, rock, Indian and Western classical, jazz and folk music

Sometime back Ujjayinee met guitar virtuoso and producer Ed DeGenaro from Los Angeles and thereby started a new journey for her where she teamed up with him and co-produced and sang for his album “Holiday In Madras”. Since then she has been touring and performing with his band called “The Elektrik Circus”. She has experimented with various styles and genres of music in this album. She is currently working on her independent album called “This Feels Right”, some of the songs of which she has already released as singles. She is also working with Ed for his next album called “The Elektrik Circus”. Her first original compilation is called “Novocaine For The Soul” and since then she has released numerous singles. Apart from Ed, she has also collaborated and performed with other international artists, one of them being multiple Grammy winner Ric Fierabracci.

Ed DeGenaro is a fusion guitarist and producer whose unique mix of bebop and metal sounds, along with a whole lot of the “DeGenaro” personality is collectively called the “Nude Guitars” sound and has been compared to the likes of Scott Henderson, Frank Gambale and Steve Vai. Ed’s musical journey began in Germany, where he was born and raised. After receiving a degree in Performance and Teaching from the German National Conservatory of Music in Nuremberg, he worked as a “hired gun” guitarist and session player, performing all over Europe before relocating to Los Angeles followed by Seattle and then back to Los Angeles. His contributions, as a musician and an engineer, includes numerous projects with major labels, musicians like Elliott Sharp, Steve Kimock, David Byron Band, Accept, Hammerhead, Alcatraz, and producers David Rosenthal and Roy Thomas Baker.

After the critically acclaimed releases Dog House and Less Is Seldom More, Ed released “Holiday In Madras” which according to some is Ed’s best work so far. For this album he teamed up with various artists from the United States, Germany and India. Currently Ed is producing Indian singer-songwriter Ujjayinee Roy’s album titled “This Feels Right” and also his fusion album called “The Elektrik Circus”.

Ed’s love affair with India began when he visited India in the year 2010 as a guitar faculty at The Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music. He toured all over India with his band and also played with numerous Indian musicians. Ed was tremendously impressed and inspired by the Indian sounds and styles and thence was created “Holiday In Madras” where he collaborated with Indian musicians like Ghatam Karthik and vocalist Ujjayinee Roy. In addition to this Ed also spent a lot of time on the road with his country band Nathan Chance & North Coast and played for their albums. He is one of the few talented guitarists who can make shredding look effortless on a fretless guitar and make the guitar groove to just about any sonic exploration, encompassing funk, blues, ethnic, jazz, metal and much more. Currently Ed lives in India and works as the head of the department of Music Production at the Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music
